Guided tour in the poet's home

All summer and weekends in September

Join us on a guided tour of Sigrid Undset's beautiful home!

At Bjerkebæk, Sigrid Undset lived with her three children, while she wrote the books for which she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. You will get an insight into her life as a mother, writer, social debater, Catholic and gardener.

The author's home is filled with her large collection of books, furniture, art and objects that she surrounded herself with to create a home.

Visitors to Bjerkebæk may experience the home accompanied by a tour guide who tells about Sigrid Undset, her life and writing.

  • Duration: Approx. 45 minutes
  • Included in the entrance ticket
  • Max. 15 persons per tour
  • Registration with the museum's hosts

Times may change.

1–19 August:
Tours at 10.30 am, 11.30 am, 12.30 pm, 1.30 pm*, 2.30 pm, and 3.30 pm

20–31 August:
Tours at 11.30 am, 12.30 pm, 1.30 pm*, and 2.30 pm

Saturdays and Sundays in September:
Tours at 12.30 pm, 2.30 pm, and 4.30 pm

*The 1.30 pm tour will be given in English if there are international visitors.
