ACCESSIBILITYSigrid Undset’s home Bjerkebæk is centrally located opposite Håkon and Kristin’s hall at Stampesletta. There are separate free parking spaces for visitors to Bjerkebæk in the parking area outside Kristin’s hall. Disabled parking is provided next to the main entrance of the public building in Sigrid Undset vei.

The public building, with ticket sales, museum shop, café, auditorium and toilets, is well adapted for both prams and wheelchairs.

A film about the life of Sigrid Undset is shown in the auditorium, as an alternative to visiting the actual home.

Sigrid Undset’s home is under a conservation order and has been restored to about 1930. It is possible for disabled persons to access the fireside lounge, but the other rooms of the house are accessed via staircases and narrow doorways.

In order to enter the home you need to take a guided tour that takes place hourly, more information is given under opening hours. There is only room for 15 visitors in the house at the same time, we therefore advise you to contact us to reserve a place in advance.
